Details

This is an Berber Corrider rug, a traditional, hand-knotted Berber carpet from the Anti-Atlas region of Morocco. It is distinguished by its checkerboard-style grid where each square frames a single, vibrantly colored, stylized symbolic motif (often representing a flower or star). The neutral wool background provides a striking contrast to the bright red, green, and blue accents, making it a classic example of this distinctive Moroccan weaving art.

Our Materials: Woven Authenticity

Our Moroccan rugs are more than just floor coverings; they are works of art crafted from the finest and most durable raw materials, selected with the utmost care.

1. 100% Natural Virgin Wool

The heart of our rugs is high-quality Moroccan sheep wool. We primarily use virgin wool to ensure a texture that is both soft and resilient.

  • Softness and Comfort: Moroccan wool is known for its exceptional softness and its ability to create a warm, pleasant surface underfoot.
  • Natural Resistance: Thanks to its natural lanolin content, our rugs are naturally resistant to stains and dirt, ensuring remarkable longevity.
  • Thermal Insulation: Wool is a fantastic insulator that keeps your space warm in winter and cool in summer.

2. Natural and Vegetable Dyes

The vibrancy of our rugs' colors comes from entirely natural pigments, honoring ancestral traditions.

  • Eco-Friendly Colors: Artisans use local ingredients such as henna, indigo, saffron flower, and madder roots to create rich, deep hues.
  • Color Durability: These natural dyes are renowned for their stability, ensuring that your rug's colors remain vibrant for decades without fading.
  • Health and Safety: The absence of harsh chemicals guarantees a safer and healthier product for your home environment.

3. Cotton (For Structure)

In certain rugs, particularly lightweight Kilims or some Beni Ourain styles, a cotton base is used for the warp (vertical threads) and the weft (horizontal threads) before being covered by the wool knots.

  • Robust Structure: Cotton provides a solid, stable, and non-deforming foundation, which is essential for the rug's structural quality.
  • Suppleness: It helps make the rugs more flexible, facilitating easier handling and cleaning.
